Overview
Montbay Pty Ltd is an engineering consultancy which specialises in the field of Contract Management services to the Mining and Engineering industries.
The full range of Contract Management services offered to clients are:

Contract Management Services
Training Courses or "One-on-One" training in post award contract management to minimise risks through the correct handling of cost and time issues such as, variations and claims issues, latent conditions, mining rate issues, extension of time issues, acceleration/prolongation/compression issues. Includes training in monitoring and maintaining progress, progress claims and payments, and forecasting.
Preparation of Tender documentation to the client’s requirements. Preparation and compilation of Contract Documentation incorporating post tender changes. Includes documentation for Expressions of Interest/Prequalification.
Development of General Conditions of Contract in conjunction with the client’s legal personnel to suit client’s operation.
Performance of independent audits on documentation prepared by others.
Management of the tender evaluation process from the time of tender until award. Includes attendance at meetings with tenderers and assistance with the evaluation of tenders using a weighted matrix scoring system.
Assistance with all facets of contract management of existing contracts including contract administration, identification of risks related to time and cost such as variations, claims, extension of time, prolongation/acceleration claims and forecasting. Includes assistance with resolution of claims for variation by the Contractor and the development of strategies for resolution of the claims.
Includes assistance with contracts that have gone ‘off the tracks’ or are not running smoothly for whatever reason.
Preparation of Contract Management Procedures for tender preparation, tender evaluation and post award.
Extensive use of flowcharts make these procedures easy to follow.
Procedures are tailored to suit the specifics of the client’s contracts.
Procedures can be detailed or brief to suit client requirements.
Performance of independent professional site audits to evaluate the performance of company personnel or the contractor. Site audits are often used to identify needs for further training in Contract Management and the modification/ implementation of procedures to improve effective site management. They can also we used to provide independent professional verification that the company has performed correctly ‘due diligence’ processes such as tender evaluation.

Newcrest Mining Pty Ltd - Ridgeway Mining Project - Orange, New South Wales, Australia

Assisting client with preparation of Tender Documents, tender evaluation and compilation of the consolidated Contract Documents for the new underground mining contract at Ridgeway, valued at approx $140M over 3 years.
This underground contract is one of the largest undertaken in Australia.

Tim Gray (Director) : BSc Eng (Civil), CP Eng., MIE Aust., MICE
Tim has over 25 years professional experience in project management, contract administration and design of engineering projects.
This experience has been gained in the role of project manager/consultant working for both the Principal and Contractors on projects in Australia, Asia and Africa.
With only minor exceptions every project with which Tim has been involved has included contract management experience.
Tim has been working in Australia since 1981 and has specialised in Contract Management to the mining industry since 1996.
